Chapter 29 New Beginnings

Stefano woke up that morning beside the most beautiful woman he had ever laid his eyes on. He did not plan to sleep beside her, but she refused to let him go all night, so he had no choice. It was not easy for him to sleep beside her and not touch her all night. He craved to have her body against his all night but knew better than to touch her after what she experienced. The minute he walked out of the club with her in his arms, she wasted no time falling into a deep slumber. He was so grateful to God he was able to save her last night. It was a good thing they went to one of his clubs, and he was around. He knew his sister and Andrea came to the club together, so the minute he did not see her, he wasted no time searching for her. Luckily he found her before that bastard could harm her. He feels a deep need to protect her and make her never leave this room, but he knows better than that.

Stefano gently strokes his fingers against her cheeks. This causes her to snuggle closer to him. His heartbeat suddenly increases with her closer to him. This is one of the effects she has on him, and he does not know if he likes it or not. He gently untangles his arm from around her head and walks out of the room. While walking down, he hears his sister's voice calling his name but pretends not to hear her.

"Stefano, I know you can hear me; I am waiting for you in the kitchen," Aurora says,

"Good morning to you too, sister," Stefano says as he walks into the kitchen.

"How is she doing?" Aurora asks with worry laced in her voice. She feels guilty for what happened to Andrea. She can't believe her little trip to the bathroom put her friend's life in danger. She did not think her quick stop to the bathroom to vomit will cause such a horrible thing to almost happen to her friend.

"Fine, she is sleeping," Stefano answers curtly.

"Did he harm her in any way?"

"No, I got there in time."

"Thank God," Aurora says and releases a breath of relief.

"Yeah, and if that's all, you can leave. I will drop her at home when she wakes up."

"That's not the only reason I am here. I came to talk to you about Andrea."

"What about her?"

"Stefano, you can't keep doing this? Andrea is a human being; she has feelings. You have to either let her go or make her happy."

Stefano was not prepared to have this conversation with his sister this morning, but he knew better than to ignore her.

"I know that, but I can't decide. My heart is telling me to be with her, but my brain keeps reminding me why that is a bad idea," Stefano says, frustrated.

Stefano knew his heart yearned for Andrea, but anytime he acted on his feelings, he had to remind himself why he shouldn't.
